At the end of June we took a little weekend trip to Gatlinburg. My fabulous friend Joi (from Arizona) was going to be on this side of the country for a couple of weeks and was SO AWESOME to coordinate and organize a get-together. She found and reserved the cabin and just told us when to be there. I haven't seen her in 8 years. During those eight years both of us have had two little girls so i was SUPER excited to meet her little ones. Joi and I go way back! We basically grew up together in TN/VA. We went to different highschools but we were in the same ward. I have fond memories of our childhood/teenage years together. I also was her roomate at BYU for a semester. Anyways, we arrived in Gatlinburg on Fri afternoon and had a fun reunion...lots of hugs and excitement. The girls bonded quickly and went off to explore the cabin while the adults visited. I LOVE that even though we haven't seen eachother in 8 years and our friendship has basically been maintained through emails and phone calls that sitting in the cabin together felt like we had never been away from eachtoher! THAT IS TRUE FRIENDSHIP!!!!!
The next day we went to Dollywood. It has been forever since i have been there so i was glad that i could take my family.

Justin wasen't feeling well so he ended up being the "babysitter" while we all went on rides. Joi's youngest Aubri and our youngest Avery ended up sitting with him the most. We basically got there right after it opened and closed the place down. It was a LONG, HOT day of FUN!

The next day we were excited to be meeting another one of our TRUE friends and her family for lunch, so after checking out of the cabin we drove into Pigeon Forge and met Lorianne and Joe and their 4 beautiful children. Me, Lori and Joi haven't been together in 8 years so that was a special moment. Again, it felt like we have been together this whole time!

We enjoyed a great lunch together!! I LOVE my friends! i am so thankful for TRUE friendships that distance and time can't break!!!

i loved having all our kids with us too. Between the three of us there were 8 kids and all of them are 7 years old and younger. I hope they can grow up to be close friends too like their mamas.
